Green Events in Grafenegg

Our self-organized events are certified as Green Events. Green events are characterized by increased energy efficiency, waste avoidance and environmentally friendly arrival and departure of guests. Regional value creation and social responsibility are also key aspects.

Festival as Green Event

Following the successful completion of the Midsummer Night's Gala as a Green Event, we are now continuing our efforts towards sustainability in Grafenegg. We are proud to announce that our Festival is about to be certified as a Green Event.

We have carried the certification «Österreichisches Umweltzeichen» since 2023, and with the opening of the Grafenegg Festival 2024 on August 16, you will notice measures at concerts, in catering and throughout the area that distinguish our festival as a Green Event. These measures include:

  • Sustainable and regional catering: All drinks and food are organic and sourced regionally.
  • Sustainable material procurement: We pay attention to resource-conserving materials and avoid unnecessary waste.
  • Efficient energy and waste management: We reduce our ecological footprint through the use of energy-efficient technology and well thought-out waste management.
  • Accessibility and inclusion: Our events are designed to be barrier-free and we use gender-neutral language in our communication.
  • Cooperation with regional suppliers: We promote the regional economy by working with suppliers from the surrounding area.
  • Economical use of resources: The conscious use of resources is central to all our activities.

As a natural and green venue, Grafenegg is particularly committed to this topic. Together with the entire NÖ-Kulturwirtschaft and all our employees, partners, artists and visitors, we are committed to putting sustainability at the heart of everything we do.

We look forward to taking this path together and invite you to implement these measures with us. We thank you for your support and look forward to taking this important step with you.
